Our youth from ST Mary's Bramall Lane attended The PBS Cranmer Awards Leeds Diocese Heat which was held at St Margaret's Church Queen's Road Ilkley on Saturday 14 October 2023. We first spotted the news about this event in the Diocesan youth newsletter and it is the first regional heat in Yorkshire ever.

A total of 7 youth and two adults travelled by train from Sheffield to Ilkley.
The competition involved 2 sections: Senior group (15years- 17 years) and Junior group (11 years to 14 years). In each section 4 prizes were awarded as follows: 1st, 2nd & 3rd then 1 highly commended.
St Mary's youth were awarded 4 of these 8 prizes thereby creating an equal division of awards between South Yorkshire and the rest of Yorkshire.

None of our youth are through to the finals this year as they only take the 1st position from each category. They are already looking forward to next year !
