Development Worker – Appreciative Inquiry

Nadia Asghar (Small)I have been working at St. Marys for almost 4 years initially as a Researcher in our Appreciative Inquiry Research project and now as a Development Worker, helping to promote Appreciative Inquiry in communities across Sheffield. Previously I was working for a funding organisation as a Development and Monitoring Officer where I successfully supported a Grants Development Team in distributing £6 million worth of funds across South Yorkshire to small community and voluntary organisations.

My current role at St. Marys allows me to work with Pakistani women at a grass root level enabling them to enhance and develop their skills through Appreciative Inquiry sessions. My work means a lot to me because I work with the community I was raised in and which I’m very proud of. It’s given me the opportunity to raise the profile of the women in this community, whose voices are not heard.
