I have worked at St. Mary’s since 2001 and have been involved in many different aspects of the centre over the past 13 years.
Before joining St. Mary’s I worked for The Body Shop, an international retailer as Head of Leadership Development. In this role I was responsible for a UK wide assessment of all managers and subsequently designed a learning strategy linked to organisational targets and goals. I also worked as a freelance training consultant and facilitated learning interventions for the Cabinet Office as part of New Labour’s Modernising Government Programme.
Currently I manage the development of our Timebuilders and Food Cycle projects. Previously I developed a cross cultural mentoring scheme, established a volunteer led English Programme, worked with Libraries in Leeds and Huddersfield to assist them in engaging with communities and ran an innovative community research programme, The Sharrow Pie Experiment. At St. Mary’s I relish the opportunity to work and develop projects with a diverse range of people from the community and exceptional volunteers from all walks of life.
In 2012 I completed an MSc in Coaching and Mentoring, gaining a merit. My dissertation research focused on the power of informal coaching conversations as a catalyst to creating networks, reciprocity and creative community projects.
